Uncertainty in the Market

How's the market doing since all of this virus stuff is happening around the world?  I really don't know what to think.  We have major events being cancelled.  We have uncertainty in the stock markets.  I have friends in the tourist industry and they are seeing a slow down.  To be honest, the last time I felt like this was just after 9/11.  Maui's real estate market did slow down back then but transactions still happened.  As I write this blog post, there are six new pending prope... read more

Open Houses

Do they still work?

Absolutely!  In this day and age of technology at your fingertips, you can see almost anything via the mls or Google Earth.  Because Maui is 3500 miles away from the nearest landmass, buyers and sellers definitely want open houses.  People need to get an idea of how a home or condo feels.  Does the home get the afternoon sun?  Does the little A/C unit cool the whole room?  Is that really an ocean view?  You get the idea.  Many of the properties I hold open houses at are in va... read more
